    About the Program (CIP Code: 51.0899)

    A student in the Health Assistant program will be introduced to the field of health care with an emphasis on direct patient care. Instructional areas will include: anatomy; physiology; medical terminology; infection control; emergency procedures; patient care; and technological advancements in patient care. The expanded overview of the health care field allows students to explore, refine, and choose an area of specialization in health care after participating in field trips and clinical rotations.
