About the Program

Career Cluster: Manufacturing

CIP Code: 48.0501

A student in the Machine Technology program will be introduced to the skills used in the precision metalworking industry. Students will be instructed on how to develop a process plan; how to produce and/or repair parts; how parts fit and work together; how to use a variety of metal working equipment; how to program and produce products on the computer controlled (CNC) machines; and how to make accurate quality control checks. Skills obtained in this area are highly transferable to many production, manufacturing, and mechanical engineering careers.
